We at CHESTMED provide advanced techniques for managing lung diseases. Be it advanced bronchoscopic techniques for diagnosis such as convex-probe EBUS-TBNA, radial-probe EBUS-TBNA, cryotherapy, & pleuroscopy, or for treatment such as laser bronchoscopy & silicone airway stenting to open up wind pipes blocked by cancer or Tuberculosis.

We also provide the service of early detection of lung cancer to overcome the fact that lung cancer is a number one killer among all cancers the main reason for which is late diagnosis. Lung cancer kills more people globally than breast, pancreas, colon, and prostate cancer combined. In Singapore it’s a number 1 killer among males and number 2 killer among females with only a difference of ~100 deaths between breast and lung cancer deaths per year in females.

ABOUT US

At CHESTMED, our goal is to provide comprehensive care in Respiratory Medicine (lung health) ranging from common conditions like asthma requiring treatment with inhalers and medications, to uncommon conditions like blocked windpipes requiring advanced techniques such as bronchoscopic laser resection or stenting of the airways.

We also carry special concern for lung cancer being the number one killer among all cancers and consistently strive for its early detection to prevent delay in diagnosis. Dr Ong Kian Chung is a respiratory physician practising at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Singapore. He subspecialises in intensive care medicine and treats respiratory disorders, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), sleep apnoea, bronchitis, wheezing, asthma, shortness of breath and lung cancer.
